Meet our outstanding faculty that makes Rhythm Elements Dance Studio one of a kind.  Our experienced front desk staff is here to help make your experience a memorable one!

Our instructors have set a standard of excellence for every student to follow.  They are talented, professionally trained dancers and choreographers who place emphasis on correct technique, dance terminology, foundation, creativity, cutting-edge choreography, musicality and being a showstopper performer.  They bring an abundance of dance experience to the classroom along with positive attitudes.  Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Pre-Professional levels taught.  The Rhythm Elements Dance Studio staff is dedicated to developing talent at both the recreational and professional level.  Students in our program can go on to become professional, employable dancers and actors with the excellent training, grooming and exposure they receive.

Cornelia Virella - Artistic Director

TRAINING: David Howard, Alvin Ailey, Frank Hatchett, Mia Michaels, Broadway Dance Center, Steps On Broadway, Dave Scott, Chuck Maldonado and others.

CREDITS: Modernicity Dance Theatre, Lithonia Contempra Ballet Company, Bahiyah African Dance Company, roles in film, television, theatre, and commissioned to choreograph dances for indy movies and stage plays, award-winning writer.  

CLASSES TAUGHT: Classical Ballet, Pre-Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap, West African, Ballroom/Wedding Dances, Acting/Musical Theatre, Private Dance Lessons.  

She strives to provide classes that foster learning, creativity, and inspire students to do their best.  

Cornelia is a National Dance Foundation 'Dance Ambassdor' for the state of Georgia, member of the Main Street Porterdale Board, and founded the Porterdale Arts Collective of which she served as the Chair.  The Porterdale Arts Collective is a platform for its members to bring increased exposure for individual artists.

Jamilyn Jones - Instructor

TRAINING: A Time To Dance, Mainstream Dance, Covington Regional Ballet

CREDITS: Roles in the Covington Regional Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker, lead role as the Evil Queen in the Covington Regional Ballet’s production of Snow White, roles in theatre, assistant to Emory University dance professors for their children summer dance camp program, and a variety of live performances.

CLASSES TAUGHT: Classical Ballet, Pre-Pointe, Pointe, Contemporary and Jazz.

Jamye loves to share her knowledge and passion with each student she has the pleasure to work with.

Susan Spampinato

Susan Spampinato is a vital member of our front desk staff and has been with us for three years.  She has a dance and theatre background and secretarial experience.  Miss Susan works tirelessly to keep our front desk working smoothly and ensuring that our students, families and visitors feel right at home at Rhythm Elements.  If you have a question about your tuition, classroom attire/dress code, schedules, performances or general studio happenings, she will gladly assist you.
